Strategic Planning
Our strategic direction for the Central West catchment area has been completely reviewed since late 2009. We started consulting with local people about what it is they value in their local environment. These conversations provided the foundation of a planning process that looked at the resilience of natural and social systems that affect us all everyday.
This process has resulted in an upgraded Catchment Action Plan that provides a shared vision for natural resource management. A vision that has been developed by the community, government and industry.
Tim Ferraro, previous General Manager of the Central West CMA, spoke about linking people with natural resource management at a TEDx event in Dubbo in August 2011.
The Central West CMA’s strategic direction is provided by two key documents:
- The Strategic Plan, which provides the broad direction to June 2012
- The upgraded Central West Catchment Action Plan which directs the CMA’s natural resource management outcomes, with key targets to be achieved by 2021.
