External funding opportunities
We provide incentive funding to Central West community groups and land managers so that you can improve and protect our natural resources. Find out more about CMA incentive funding.

The Central West CMA & NSW Rural Assistance Authority partnership
The NSW Rural Assistance Authority’s (RAA) Special Conservation Scheme provides low interest loans to eligible landholders to fund improved land management practices such as:
- soil conservation works
- stock Water Supply
- cap and piping of artesian bores
- up-grading of existing irrigation systems
- planting of perennial species
- de-silting of dams
- control of noxious weeds.
For these types of projects, the RAA lends up to 90% of the total cost of the works (excluding GST) to a maximum of $150,000.
The Central West CMA also conducts farm planning workshops so that landholders can develop their farm plan. This course provides the skills and knowledge to build landscape and business resilience by:
- addressing the identified issues
- increasing farm profitability
- preparedness for climate change and drought.
Farmers are able to develop and prioritise on-ground projects, which may be funded by a CMA grant or RAA loan.
This partnership between the Central West CMA and the RAA aims to improve the advisory and financial assistance provided to landholders throughout our catchment. This arrangement can lead to greater investment in natural resource management (NRM) that will deliver real ‘triple bottom line’ benefits – social, environmental and financial success for farmers and their families!
